Privacy policy

How LOCKEDIN3D handles the personal data you share with us on lockedin3d.com, in plain words.

In short

  • We only collect what you send us through the contact form, and we use it to reply to you.
  • No advertising or analytics cookies. We don't track you, and we never sell your data.
  • Purchases are made on Etsy, which handles payment and delivery details under its own privacy policy.
  • You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your data.

01Who we are

This website, lockedin3d.com, is run by LOCKEDIN3D, an independent 3D printing studio based in Portugal. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

For any question about your data, write to us at geral@lockedin3d.com.

02What we collect

When you use the contact form: your name, email address, the type of request, and whatever you choose to tell us, such as an order number, project details, size, quantity, finish, your message and any files you attach (images, 3D models or documents).

When you visit the site: our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time) to keep the site secure and running. The contact form also keeps your IP address for a short time to block spam and abuse.

Your language choice: stored only in your own browser, never sent to us.

We don't ask for or receive payment details, and we don't use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies.

03Why we use it

  • To answer your request and prepare quotes. Steps taken at your request before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To handle an order or a complaint. Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To keep the site and the form secure. Our legitimate interest in preventing spam and abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).

We don't use your data for automated decisions or profiling, and we don't send marketing emails.

04Purchases on Etsy

All purchases are made on Etsy. When you buy, Etsy collects and processes your payment, billing and delivery details as an independent controller, under its own Privacy Policy.

Etsy shares with us only what we need to make and ship your order, such as your name, delivery address and the details of the order. We use it for that order and for the records the law requires.

The reviews shown on this site come from public Etsy reviews. We show the rating, the text, any buyer photo, the product and the date, but never the buyer's name.

05Who we share it with

We never sell or rent your personal data. We only work with the providers this site needs:

  • Hostinger hosts the website and our email, and delivers the site's files.
  • Etsy handles every purchase, as described above.
  • Google Fonts and cdnjs (Cloudflare) deliver the site's typefaces and animation library, so your browser connects to their servers and shares your IP address with them.
  • Instagram only receives data if you choose to follow a link to our profile.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, for example at the request of a court or a public authority.

06Transfers outside the EU

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. When they do, the transfer is covered by the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

07How long we keep it

  • Messages from the contact form: for as long as we need them to handle your request and any order that follows from it. After that, we delete them.
  • Large files sent through the form: kept behind a private download link that is removed automatically after 60 days.
  • Server logs and anti-spam records: only for the short period our hosting provider sets for security.
  • Order and invoice records: for as long as Portuguese tax law requires.

08How we protect it

The whole site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Files sent through the form are stored outside the public part of the website and can only be opened with a private link, and access to your messages is limited to the LOCKEDIN3D team.

09Cookies and local storage

This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, which is why you won't see a cookie banner.

We only save your language choice (English or Portuguese) in your browser's local storage, so the site remembers it next time. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings. Sites you open from our links, such as Etsy and Instagram, have their own cookie policies.

10Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • know what data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
  • have it corrected or completed;
  • have it deleted;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • receive it in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, write to geral@lockedin3d.com. We'll reply within one month. If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The version published on this page is always the current one.
